The demo runs on virtual credits. No deposit, no card details, no risk to your balance. You're testing the water, not buying in.

This is version 1.6.1.8 (updated January 2023) - the exact build that runs for real money. Same RNG, same math, same bonus triggers. The demo doesn't inflate wins or hide how the free spins actually play out. What you see here is what you get when you stake real funds.

You don't need an account to launch it. No timer cutting you off mid-session, no artificial spin limits. Want to see how often those boat scatters actually land? Need to check if the fisherman feature in free games justifies the wait? Run it as long as you need.

The demo's practical: test the 1-10 line selection, see how autoplay behaves, watch what happens when you stop the reels early. You're checking if the rhythm suits you before committing anything.

Ten sequels, five Megaways versions, and more spin-offs than you can shake a fishing rod at - yet the original Fishin' Frenzy remains stubbornly straightforward. Where later variants piled on mechanics and progressive multipliers, this 2014 slot that launched Reel Time Gaming's biggest UK franchise sticks to one core idea: during free spins, fisherman symbols catch fish for instant prizes. That's the whole thing. No cascades, no expanding features, just a cheerful bloke in a vest occasionally scooping up cartoon fish worth up to 500x your line bet. It's the sort of uncomplicated design that shouldn't have spawned a dozen variants and become a household name in British casinos, but clearly something resonated. Whether that's down to genuine mechanical charm or just the right theme at the right time is worth examining - especially now the brand's everywhere but the original risks getting lost in its own wake.

How To Play

Before you spin, you'll need to set your stake using the coin stack button on the right sidebar. This opens the bet menu where you can select your bet per line and choose how many of the 10 win lines you want active. Your total bet (lines × bet per line) appears under "BETS" and gets deducted from your deposit balance. Stakes range from 0.10 to 200.00 (or currency equivalent), though the exact presets depend on your operator's configuration.

Once your bet's sorted, hit the circular arrow button to spin. The reels will spin and stop automatically from left to right. Here's a handy feature: while the reels are spinning, the spin button changes to a fast forward icon—press it to stop the reels immediately rather than waiting for them to finish. Useful when you're in a rhythm or just want to speed things along.

Autoplay

The circular arrows button (different from the single spin arrow) opens the autoplay menu. You'll select how many automatic spins you want, and the game will run them consecutively. The number of remaining autospins displays on the button while it's running.

Important: autoplay will stop automatically if you trigger the Free Spins bonus, hit any loss limit you've set, or win a progressive jackpot (where applicable). You can also manually interrupt it by pressing the square stop button—the autoplay will pause but your settings remain. Press spin again to continue where you left off.

Sidebar Controls

You'll spot three buttons on the right side of the screen:

During Play

Wins are calculated after the reels stop. You'll see winning lines highlighted in different colours (purple, red, green, blue, orange, pink, yellow) matching the line numbers shown on both sides of the reels. Only your highest win on each active line pays out, but wins across different lines add together.

The game runs smoothly for UK players with no special restrictions—you can play at whatever pace suits you. If you're chasing that Free Spins bonus where the fisherman catches prize fish, just keep spinning. Three or more boat scatter symbols anywhere on the reels will trigger it, and you don't need to do anything special to activate it.

Bonuses & Symbols

Symbol Payouts

Fishin' Frenzy pays when you land matching symbols on consecutive reels from left to right across any active payline (you can select 1-10 lines). Here's what each symbol pays:

Symbol 5 of a Kind 4 of a Kind 3 of a Kind 2 of a Kind
Pelican symbol
Pelican (brown bird with large beak)
400,000 40,000 10,000 1,000
Fishing rod symbol
Fishing Rod (orange rod with reel)
200,000 30,000 6,000
Life preserver ring symbol
Life Preserver Ring (red and white striped flotation ring)
100,000 20,000 4,000
Tackle box symbol
Tackle Box (green fishing equipment box)
100,000 20,000 4,000
Card symbols A K Q J 10
A / K / Q / J / 10 (colourful card symbols)
20,000 5,000 1,000

These payout values are multiplied by your bet per line. Only the highest win on each payline is paid, but wins across different paylines add together.

Wild Symbol – The Fisherman

Fisherman wild symbol - smiling fisherman in green vest holding golden fish

The Wild shows a smiling fisherman in a green vest and orange shirt, holding a large golden fish. Here's the thing: it doesn't appear at all during the base game.

The Fisherman only shows up during the free games feature, where it substitutes for all symbols except the Boat scatter. But it does much more than substitute – each Fisherman that lands collects the cash values from every fish symbol visible on screen. This is the core mechanic of the bonus.

During free games, the Fisherman also pays on its own:

  • 5 Fisherman symbols: 5,000
  • 4 Fisherman symbols: 500
  • 3 Fisherman symbols: 100
  • 2 Fisherman symbols: 10

Scatter Symbol – The Boat

Boat scatter symbol - fishing boat with SCATTER text

The Boat scatter shows a fishing boat with "SCATTER" text on it. Land three or more anywhere in view to trigger free games:

  • 3 Boats = 10 free games
  • 4 Boats = 15 free games
  • 5 Boats = 20 free games

The Boat doesn't pay cash on its own – it purely triggers the bonus feature.

Free Games Bonus

When you trigger free games, you're taken to the same 5x3 grid but with a crucial difference: fish symbols now appear on the reels showing monetary values (20, 50, 100, 150, 200, 250, or 500 credits). These fish just sit there displaying their values.

Fish symbols showing monetary values during free games

Then comes the payoff. Every time a Fisherman Wild lands during free games, it "catches" the prizes from all fish currently visible on screen. If you've got seven fish showing and a Fisherman appears, he collects all seven values. If two Fishermen land on the same spin, they each collect every fish value independently.

Your free games play at the same bet level and number of lines as the spin that triggered them. Standard symbol wins still count during free games – the fish collection mechanic runs alongside normal payouts.

The feature can't retrigger. Once you've played through your 10, 15, or 20 spins, you're returned to the base game with your accumulated winnings.
